The firm of Richard A. Paul, P.A. is the incorporation under the laws of the State of Florida as a Professional Association (P.A.) of a sole proprietorship, Richard A. Paul, C.P.A., which was a spin-off from the firm Greenlee, Paul and Kurras.  The Firm previously used the names of Greenlee, Paul, Furnas and Kurras; Greenlee, Paul and Furnas; H.W. Sheppard and Company; Sheppard, Sheppard and Johnson; and Sheppard and Sheppard.  Founded by Henry W. Sheppard, C.P.A. in the 1940s, the firm was managed by Wilson G. Sheppard C.P.A. until his retirement in 1969.

The firm is a proud  member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants.  It fully supports these organizations and, along with each of its staff members, subscribes to and is bound by the codes of professional ethics of both institutes.

This firm is engaged in most of the normal activities of a public accounting firm, except it no longer accepts audit engagements.  We prepare a variety of income tax returns for individuals, businesses, estates, trusts and non-profits.  We are capable of keeping your accounting records for you in our office, or coming to your office or home and helping you with your records there.  We have substantial experience in administrating estates and trusts, and work with all of the attorneys in the area.  If you need us to write your checks for you, we can do that, too!

The firm is headed by Richard A. Paul, who has been a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) since 1965.  He is a graduate of the University of Florida, and also holds the designation of Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA) from the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts (NACVA).

Ably assisting in the firm’s tax and accounting matters is Susan S. Oliver.  Susan is a graduate of Lake Sumter Community College (with honors), and the University of Central Florida (with high honors), with a degree in Accounting.   She has been a member of this firm since 1992.

Our bookkeeping department is headed by Denise R. Bedgood.  Mrs. Bedgood has been with the firm since 1977, and is proficient as a full service bookkeeper, skilled in accounting and tax matters.  She supervises our bookkeeping department, and maintains the accounting records for a variety of businesses.  She also is the reviewer for all of the tax returns prepared by our staff.

Cynthia F. Royce has been with the firm since 1997, and is a bookkeeper and administrative assistant.  She provides bookkeeping services for several types of businesses and individuals, and also backs-up the administrative duties of the firm.  When you call, she might be the person who answers the phone.

Roger W. Paul is Richard’s wife, and serves as the office manager of the firm.  Her job is keeping all of the administrative wheels turning, so that the rest of us can provide the tax and accounting services for our clients. If you need something, she is the one to call!
